AkomiDance represents the collaboration of two of Southern California’s finest dance artists. Marie Hoffman and Anthony Aceves began directing the company together two years ago, with the shared vision of creating choreographic works to showcase not only their strengths as dance makers, but also the beautifully diverse talents and expertise of their dancers. Ms. Hoffman has spent a lifetime studying classical and contemporary ballet along with multiple methods of modern dance.  Her pedigree spans 30+ years of educational training and professional performance experience.  Mr. Aceves brings a youth and vitality to the company.  Along with his years of experience as a Disney performer, he is an accomplished contemporary dancer with an organic style of movement that is uniquely his own. After actively researching and experiencing dance in southern California via attendance at conferences, forums, festivals, and invitationals, Marie and Anthony made an important addition to the mission of AkomiDance.  They recently adopted, as one of their primary tenets, the practice of unifying the SoCal dance community. As the proud proprietors of the Orange County Dance Festival, AkomiDance will continue its efforts of unification when they play host to concert and commercial dancers from Los Angeles and Orange counties on April 2 at the Rose Center Theatre in Westminster.
